Asteroids is one of the well-known classics among arcade games, which was put out in 1979 by Atari, Inc. In the game, the player controls and moves a spacecraft placed dangerously inside an asteroid field, which gets periodically assaulted by flying saucers looking to destroy it. The goal is to shoot both oncoming fast-moving asteroids and the flying saucers that come in your path. You also need to dodge counter-fire from the enemy. The game grows harder, with an increase in the number of asteroids. Each time after the playfield is cleared of obstacles and dangers, a new set of them appears in even greater number, adding to the thrill and fun. The game ends when all lives are lost.
